Highlights of the Week

  • We spent most of the week traveling in Colorado. I will write a separate post about it, but it was a great trip that also allowed Smarty to transition from camp life back to "civilization".
  • We both came to Colorado with a cold, but, fortunately, we started feeling better throughout our trip, and so far Smarty did not seem to have picked it up from us.
  • My husband and I finished watching The Good Omens on Amazon Prime and enjoyed it very much.
  • Smarty got a notice that she has again achieved CDB finalist status. This time, her interview will be in late August, so she does not have anything to worry and wonder about the result during summer.
  • Smarty celebrated her return home by vegging out in front of her laptop for hours and reading. But she also returned to her Precalculus course, because she really wants to finish it in summer.
  • Here are some books that we read this week:
We both really enjoyed Tuf Voyaging by George R.R. Martin (yes, he of The Game of Thrones). The book starts a little gruesome (hello, GOT), but it is funny and very thought provoking as it goes along. It also has an interesting use of language which was very appealing to Smarty.

Your Turn

How was your week?

We are finally home! Which is nice to happen.

We watched Good Omens while up in Iowa, and it has some interesting stuff I'd love to discuss with my kids.

The kids are going to read Ready Player One this year, and I'm curious how my kids will react to it.
