My husband is not a strong and silent type. He gets upset easily, and he is able to talk through his feelings. In fact, yin and yang are somewhat reversed in our family, because my husband loves decorating and values beautiful and ordered house more than I do. He is the one who bakes, sews, and creates our seasonal decorations. He is also a good cook, and we share cooking duties 50-50. I love his creativity and imagination, but at the same time he is an engineer through and through with a focus on design and execution while I am a program manager with "big picture" outlook on life.
My husband is also an awesome father. He was the one staying home full time with Smarty until she was 2+ years old, and they share a very special bond. Smarty is more used to me not being home than to her father traveling for work, and she is always eagerly looking forward to his return. He is firm but loving with her, and she learned early on that she gets more attention when she behaves well than when she misbehaves. I love that we are on the same page when it comes to parenting methods and to how we look at supporting our emerging teenager.
I am grateful that I can rely on my husband 100%. I never have to wonder if he will do what he says he will do. He supports my career and provides a stable, comfortable, and safe home for all of us. I am hoping to share many more years and adventures with him.
