This week was a "mixed bag" - rain and clouds and gloominess, but also sunshine and beautiful rainbows.

Smarty was quite stressed early in the week about all assignments due right after the break. Fortunately, her stress diminished as the deadlines got moved and, more importantly, she actually started to work on her deliverables and they turned from mountains of undefined work to much more manageable projects. In fact, she is now fairly confident that she will be done with all her assignments before we leave for our trip on Saturday night. This will help her have a much more relaxed week when she comes back.

After School

Because Smarty was so stressed, we made sure that she has some time outside everyday to walk and work in the garden. She also made it to all her taekwondo classes even when she did not feel like going. One hour of kicking, punching, and vocalizing almost always leaves her in a better mood.

What We Are Reading

Disclosure: I am an Amazon affiliate, and this post contains Amazon affiliate links. Smarty was mostly reading magazines this week - we subscribe to New Scientist, Time, and Make. I was reading Meditation for Fidgety Skeptics by Dan Harris. I will share thoughts about this book in a separate post.

Favorite Memory of the Week

Smarty to me: "My classmates who taught life science last week had the survey in the end asking several questions. They asked if I would want to do it again. I was not sure what they meant, so I responded saying that I would definitely want to teach again, but if they were asking if I wanted them to teach again, then definitely not."
