Summer was great, but we are ready for this crazy heat to be over and welcome fall!

The Last Weekend of Summer

We celebrated the last weekend of summer with a camping trip to one of our state beaches where we shared a campsite with our friends who have twin girls in Smarty’s grade. Summer came back for the last (we hope!) heat wave of the season with temperatures hitting 100 F, and beach camping was awesome for this weather. The girls had a blast getting into chilly waters of Pacific ocean, collecting shells on the beach, and playing games. They even slept in their own tent – Smarty was not so sure about it first but warmed up to the idea when she realized that it would count as her first sleepover. But now, when fall is here, we are really hoping for cooler days and rains that we so desperately need here in California.

Your Turn

Are you ready for summer to be over? What are you looking forward to in fall?
