Welcome to another week of After School Link Up. It’s hot here, so it’s time to cool down with ice. I am sharing my favorite icy play ideas – some from After School Link Up and some from my travels around the web.Summer Icy Play Ideas from Planet Smarty Pants

Icy Science From Planet Smarty Pants

Volume and Weight Ice Experiment
In this ice volume and weight experiment we observed what will happen with ice when it melts – makes you think twice as to what will really happen if more ice melts in global warming.

Icy Play Ideas Around the Web

6. For all Star Wars enthusiasts out there Fun-a-Day made a fun take on rescuing Han Solo with her Star War Lego science experiment – I am glad that Lucas didn’t decide to use vinegar to free his character!

I had to dump all my containers of ice in prep for a house showing - the fridge and freezer are included with the sale, so I wanted them to be clean and organized. I was sad, because it would have been a perfect day to be out playing with ice in the heat - then I came around the corner, and found my teens running hot water onto the ice shapes in the sink - oowing and awing over the cool way the water was hollowing out, and making tunnels in the ice. I guess your never too old to enjoy ice play :)
