Celebrare Earth Day

Earth Day on Planet Smarty Pants

We live in Silicon Valley, and our garden is all planted and blooming after March rains. Next week Smarty school has several events to celebrate Earth day, but we were not doing much for it at home this year, since it comes so close to Easter, Passover, and our vacation. We believe in celebrating Earth every day by being mindful of what and how we consume, walking to school instead of driving and tending to our garden.

I'm not a big earth day fan because it seems somewhat redundant with Arbor Day (and there was something else similar, which I can't remember now). Besides I'm doing good to actually do something for Valentine's Day many years, forget all of these other minor holidays.
Besides, I agree with you, I'd rather just do my best every day, then have one super hyped up day.

My family usually plants a tree on Earth Day, but I decided not to this year. We treat every day like it is Earth Day. We take walks whenever we can instead of driving. We recycle, we pick up litter. We are going to plant a tree this year, but on some random day to keep with our everyday is Earth day ideal.
