Vacation for adults. Yet again this year we left Anna with my parents in New Jersey and departed from New York for one week cruise to Bermuda. The trip was very relaxing, with a lot of time to read, talk and refresh ourselves in preparation for another school and work year. Hopefully we can do it again, but next year we’ll look for a smaller ships and perhaps a different itinerary, especially if we can convince our daughter to fly to New Jersey on her own.
Vacation for Anna (and grandparents). My parents loved having Anna all to themselves. They spent a week going to the pool, playing, and doing activities that we call, what happens at grandparents’ stays at grandparents’. Anna certainly loved all the extra attention, different toys, a big set of modeling clay, and access to an excellent library in the town where my parents live.
Places we are going. It already became a tradition that Anna and grandparents come to pick us up in New York after our cruise, and we go to a museum. Anna was disappointed that this year we had our mind set on going to Metropolitan Museum of Art and lasted only about 2 hours there. Still, she had fun looking at artifacts from the cultures she learned about in the Story of the World – she was especially interested in sculptures and stone carvings from Assyria and Babylon.
Yesterday we came back, and now I am back at work, and Anna has the last free week before she starts the second grade. When does your school year start?
