monthly goals linky at mama smiles

IMG_0793-001Overall July was a good month. I was still on my unexpected “vacation”, and we could spend a lot of time together doing activities in our study of China. We are finally (better late than never!) refinancing our house, and we now have a new front door. Anna went to swim classes, and was reading non-stop. This week I started my new position that I consider temporary, and hence here are my goals for August:

  1. To do:  1. Enjoy our vacation – we will be off next week.
    1.     2. Prepare for a new school year – Anna goes back on Aug 19.
    2.     3. Focus on networking and looking for a new job.
  2. To learn:  1. The rules of articles in English language (seriously!)
      1. 2. Scratch
  3. To go:  1. New Jersey/Bermuda (vacation!)
  4.             2. Little Basin
  5.             3. Barnum & Bailey Circus
  6. To cook:  1. Shanghai Fried Noodles
    1.         2. Everyday Chocolate Cake
    2.         3. Bacon Potato Frittata
  7. To read:   1. Kane Chronicles by Rick Riordan
      1. 2. Raising an Optimistic Child by Bob Murray
      2. 3. Effective Software Project Management by Robert Wysocki

My older children have messed around with Scratch, enthusiastically for a while, but then leaving it completely. I'm sorry to read you will have to be on a job hunt - I was a little scared when I scanned your list and saw "hunt for job" and "cake everyday" - but then I realized it was make "everyday cake", that's not nearly as concerning :)

You're gonna love the Kane Chronicles. I wish that series was longer, it's only 3 books long. But, I'm also glad he didn't try to expand it past how much plot he did.

"The rules of articles in English language (seriously!)"

I'm interested in this as I never completely understood it myself!

You always have great lists! One day I'll actually post my monthly goals, one day.

This is a terrific list - and now I really want to learn scratch as well! I hope the job search is going well - just think about how impressed they will be with your understanding of the rules of articles - I've never fully grasped them.

I'm so behind on all my blog reading! I see from your "to cook" items that you need to have me over for dinner! Yum!

Looks like some great goals, well except for the job hunting.

Sounds like you will be busy in August! I hope your job search goes well, and that you can find something you will thoroughly enjoy!

My sister recommended "Raising an Optimistic Child" to me a while ago - I need to read it!
