In our lives. We have transitioned back to work/school lives after being out for a week. Even though it was a short week, it seemed long, since everyone was tired and a little cranky. On Friday Anna started to run a fever with sniffles, which made us change our weekend plans from playdates and pool outings to staying home and taking it easy. She seems better today and we are hoping to get back to normal tomorrow.

Afterschool. Anna saw an ad in The Highlights Magazine about Top Secret country exploration and was very interested in it. I remembered that I had one sample set from a giveaway I won a couple of years ago, and Anna is slowly working through a mystery set in New Zealand. Interestingly, she was able to recall quite a few facts about New Zealand from The Story of the World before we got started – I was pleasantly surprised with her ability to remember these facts.

Places we are going. We took it easy this week and planned no outings. We all needed time to get back to our usual routine of a library day, a playdate day and a gymnastics day. It was nice to have an unstructured weekend with time to hang out together and even playing a game of Monopoly – one of Anna’s favorites.

I really enjoy unstructured time, but it can be hard to find! I hope you can all be healthy this week!

I'm curious to hear how Anna likes the geography mystery. My oldest never cared for them - but I was thinking about pulling out our last few to try on the younger ones.
