School. It was a fun week for Anna in school. They had a special visit from wild cats sanctuary where they got to observe a cheetah, an ocelot, a mountain lion and another wild cat that Anna couldn’t remember. Their class also discussed and voted on books in the running for California Young Reader Medal – I can expect that We Are in the Book! by Mo Willems will win hands down Smile

Afterschool. It was a pleasant and full week. Apparently being busy comes with benefits – Anna is spending more time entertaining herself by writing stories and making things out of paper. Sometimes she also plays with her dolls and play clothes, but this is really a rare picture when I caught her dressed up and reading Famous Women book to her doll.

Places we are going. We managed to get to our stretch goal for March and took our daughter to a day trip to the Sierras for her first taste of snow. We had to drive for 3.5 hours to get there, but daughter put on her earphones, turned on her MPlayer and disappeared into The Story of the World, so we haven’t even heard a peep from the back seat. She absolutely loved everything and made sure to check off the things she put on her list – sledding, snowball fight, making a snow angel and making a snowman. She is already begging to go for a longer stretch next winter, and I hope we will be able to make her wish a reality!

Making brownies is a pretty good happiness picture.

At some point we need to introduce the kids to real snow, not the little bits we get here in Texas, the boys really enjoyed what we had here last winter.
