In our lives. This week Anna was on the Presidents’ Day break from school, and attended Y camp instead. We all enjoyed this break – Anna’s social skills really blossomed this year, and she is making a lot of friends in Y and even organized her own game club there. She is not a naturally early riser, so she is always happier when she wakes up on her own body clock (somewhere closer to 8 am). I am finally transitioning my old responsibilities at work to a new hire and hopefully in about 2 weeks I can finally go back to one job instead of doing two and a half for a while.
Afterschool. At home Anna is working on the new board game she designed with papa. She keeps writing more action cards for her game (she wanted it to be similar to Monopoly). She had a chance to play a big sister this week to a son of our good friends and did extremely well entertaining him (at some point he had too much fun and started to melt down, this is when Anna decided again that being an only child is a good deal).
Places we are going. We didn’t make it too far out this weekend, but we have a beautiful trail along San Francisco South Bay within about 20 min drive from the house. Thousands of birds winter on the Bay, and it’s an excellent place to go for bird watching or simply for a leisurely walk or a bike ride. We plan a more adventurous expedition for the next weekend.
