Dec2_ChristmasTreeIn our lives… It was my first week of treatment for Hep C. This month the treatment is one self-administered shot a week and pills twice a day. Another set of pills will be added the month after. The first day after the shot was miserable, but the rest of the week was better than we all expected. I am hoping that my luck will hold and the meds will actually work while I get to enjoy this holiday season. We already set up our tree and mostly decorated the house. We also started doing activities from our Christmas list and got out our Christmas books yesterday – yay for holiday reading.

Nov30_CookingSchool:Anna enjoyed her school week, they started learning about weather and set up a rain gauge just in time for our first winter storm. Here it simply means “rain”. Anna just loves “doing real science again”. Her teacher arranged a “repeat parent teacher conference” for us, because Lars couldn’t make it to the first one, and we will meet with her again on Monday.

Dec1_GamesAfterschool: Anna was hinting that she wants a Wii for Christmas, and my husband finally came out and said that we already have a Wii. Needless to say, there was a lot of Wii playing this week, and daughter can occasionally beat me at bowling, which makes her very happy. We also played some board games – I am planning to write my own gift guide about our favorite board games later this week.

On Anna’s Christmas wish list this year:

  • A cute little stuffed puppy from Ikea
  • New games
  • A pretty green and blue dress
  • Nice parents
  • Lots of chocolate and chocolate cookies
  • 2 or 3 candy canes
  • Next Story of the World – book and CD
  • Love!

I hope the treatment continues to go well and I also hope your conference goes well tomorrow.

I love her list - nice parents? She already has those!

We haven't done much decorating yet. We have a wreath on the door, mistletoe hung, and our elf - that's it. I'm kind of holding off because Kate is into everything and I'm not sure how I'm going to keep her away from the tree!

lol about the Wii. She is so cute. I have been thinking about you this week. I'm glad to hear that all but one day have gone pretty well. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh, didn't know you had to go through Hep C treatments :( Hopefully the rest of it is going smoother and you will have an enjoyable holiday season! Anna's list is terrific and I can't wait to read your post about games!

I too have been praying for you as you continue forward with your treatments.

Anna's list reminds me so much of Selena's. The Nice Parents cracked me up.

I am hoping that this second meeting with the teacher goes well and you get the answers you are seeking.

I'm trying to think how adminstering a self-shot would go for me..... I'm not thinking too well given how I do with shots.

I'm glad to hear otherwise it's going well.

I can't wait to see what games you'd recommend.

Ack, the Hep C treatment does not sound enjoyable. I will be thinking of you and hope it goes as well as it can.
I see that Anna has been playing Qwirkle! I love Qwirkle!
