Feb25_JerusalemIn our lives… My blogging was interrupted by a business trip to Israel and by ridiculous amount of work. I left Israel on Wednesday, just before rocket attacks on Tel Aviv, and my thoughts are with my friends and family in Israel. Many of my coworkers are being called in service, and I can only hope that the situation will calm down soon.

Travel: Anna and her father spent last week in Florida where they met up with her German uncle (my husband’s brother) and aunt. Everyone had a really good time, and highlight of the trip was two days in Busch Gardens where Anna got to see more wild life in action. Anna was on her best behavior and really enjoyed getting to know her aunt and uncle (she didn’t see them since she was a baby).

Back to school. Anna was quite happy to go back to school this week, but disappointed that her afterschool Mad Science class is over. In preparation for our parent-teacher conference next week we had a chat about her likes and dislikes. She says that she loves everything in her first grade, but in math she is a little bored, because we keep learning things I already know. I guess this is something to discuss during our conference on Monday.

Quote of the week: Mama, you are the best mama in the world. Well… maybe there are better mothers out there who let their children do anything they please, but that would be too much for me. I would run away and come back home to you. I only don’t think that you are the best when I am mad at you or you are mad at me, but this is not very often.

It is wonderful how much you all travel! I have been praying for everyone in Israel. I am so glad you left before the bombing.

It must have been an interesting time to be in Israel. I hope all your friends come through okay.

I was so relieved to know that you were home when all the bombing started over there.

Sounds like Anna had a great time with Dad.

Remind me didn't you say that they are using Saxon Math in Anna's school? If so that might be part of the problem. With Selena I know Saxon would never be a fit.

I thought about you this week and I'm so glad to hear you're home safe. Anna's quotes are the best!

I always adore Anna's quotes. I'm glad you got out of Israel before the violence started up. I was so sad to hear about that on the news.

I always look forward to her quotes! I am glad you left Israel before all of the violence began.

Collin is still saying the same thing about math. Luckily, this year he is in the math Spectrum program, but that is only once a week, so the rest of the week is not very challenging for him.

Glad you are safe and sound. As for math, I told my sister to supplement at home even though her kids go to school. Her youngest is turning out to be a math whiz at 4!

I was wondering if you'd left then. Israel was a big discussion point for our Sunday School class this week with the rockets.

Anna's one smart cookie with her quotes.
