It seems to me that your kindergarten year passed in a blink of an eye. In August last year you were a tiny youngest student in your kindergarten class entering a mixed classroom where some kids were full 2 years older than you are. You were a reluctant writer and a dreamer that preferred to be left alone, so you could read books in the corner while others played. Now you are a thriving new first grader who absolutely adores school. The only thing you didn’t enjoy this year was the morning assembly. You were very lucky with a teacher. Mrs J knew how to challenge you, calm you down when needed and draw you out of your shell. I love to see how your writing and spelling changes over time and how you gain confidence every day. You made a lot of friends this year, and you love playdates and special events with them. I am glad that most of your classmates live in our neighborhood and that you can still see them during the summer. I will miss my kindergartener, but I hope you will have a good summer break and enjoy school again in the fall.
