The “smurf house project” has started from a drawing by Anna. She titled it “a smurf village” which prompted my husband, a renown smurf expert, pull out his 30 year old smurf comics and explain to her that smurf houses should look like mushrooms. Of course, then daughter wished for a real smurf village to house her smurfs. All her smurfs are 30+ years old and used to belong to her father. He spent his childhood designing Lego merry-go-rounds for smurfs and knitting hats and blankets for them. It’s awesome to see Anna creating her own games with his little blue men.
Of course, my husband took a request for a smurf house very seriously and after several prototypes came up with a perfect solution – half of an oatmeal box + a paper soup bowl + paint = a beginning of a future smurf village. And the best part about the village is that one can also use the roofs to play dress-up :)
