Summer Bucket List

image

I missed Summer Bucket List last year, but I enjoyed reading about different adventures of my blog friends and decided that this year I will join the fun. I have to say that for us summer is not different from other seasons in terms of schedule, at least not yet. In fact, I think that I will be busier at work, so I would like not to overcommit us. Still, I am really looking forward to one thing – our community pool. I would like to spend as much time there this summer as possible. This is definitely #1 item on my summer list:

  1. 1. Spend as much time as possible at the community pool.
  2. 2. Staycation in August.
  3. 3. Visit my parents (possibly with a side “vacation for adults”) – still TBD
  4. 4. Fly a kite.
  5. 5. Go to “you pick” farm.
  6. 6. Go to the beach, dip our feet in cold Pacific ocean.
  7. 7. Make our own moon sand.
  8. 8. Make homemade clay and do heart pendants and other things.
  9. 9. Host a baby shower.
  10. 10. Celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary.
  11. 11. Make homemade soap.
  12. 12. Make homemade face paint.
  13. 13. Celebrate my husband’s birthday.
  14. 14. Try melting crayons in the sun.
  15. 15. Make lemonade.
  16. 16. Go to “Forest Theater” (for adults)
  17. 17. Go to “Shakespeare in the park”
  18. 18. See “Harry Potter 7, Part 2” (I can’t wait!)
  19. 19. Go for a “night walk”
  20. 20. Go to Monterey aquarium
  21. 21. Go to the Gilroy Gardens

I am sure I will add to the list looking at other suggestions, but I am really looking forward to summer time!

I was picturing you with a big pot of lye in your backyard, making soap - and thought you had lost your mind. But, then I clicked the link you had, and see you have something more fun in mind. :)

Sounds like a lot of fun to me. I am debating over making a list, my only problem is I do not like lists. Makes me feel to confined to try to achieve only what is on my list.

This is a great idea. I'll have to make my own list.

We did one of your listed items this week - picked strawberries on Tuesday. The next day we made jam in the breadmaker and strawberry smoothies. We had a ton of fun.

How fun! I did something similar a few years ago for fall, but I did not join a list to do it. I think it would be a lot of fun to do this with other bloggers. Your list of activities sounds like a lot of fun too.

I've been dreaming a bit about our list, too but school goes until the absolute end of June, so I have a bit of time.

I absolutely love your list! What a bunch of fun summer stuff. It's been years since I have been on the Pacific coast. I have a split picture of Little J's feet making prints in the sand. One is on the Atalantic coast and the other on the Pacific Coast.

Great list! I love the idea of a staycation. I'm thinking maybe I should have left a week off C's summer camp schedule so we could just do fun stuff for one week. I'm sure you'll have a great summer!

My oldest is the exact same age as your daughter (Oct. 2006). This is a really great list. I would love to see Harry Potter 7 Pt. 2 in theatres. Alas, we just now got to see the part 1!

This is a great list, as mentioned a lot more than once already. I second Debbie's comment, though. When I make lists I feel like I am obligated to complete everything on it. Sometimes that's good, sometimes it takes out the possibility for spontaneity. Usually my list-making tendencies win out, though ;)

Love the idea of melting crayons outside! What a great way to do an impromptu science experiment! The MBA is one of my boys favorite places to go when we visit the Grandparents.

We had fun with our summer bucket list last year. I have to say that it did stress me out a bit to have the list always there reminding me that there were things we hadn't done yet, but I still love it. In MA, school does not get out until the end of June - I envy all of the people finishing up school this month. We also don't go back to school until after Labor Day though.

I have never made one of these lists but always enjoy reading others'.

Thanks for the link about making your own moonsand.

I wish we had a community pool. I do plan to join a pool club one of these summers in the near future though. Best way to spend the summer days--pool or beach!

I remember older posts of yours from Gilroy Gardens. It looks like such a fun and pretty place to visit.
