Spring celebrations start early in our area and tied more to spring break than to Easter. Anna’s school had a Spring Spectacular party last week, which was followed by Spring Celebration in our community center. Our community center is very new and community events for kids are always stuffed with many volunteers and great craft stations. Anna had fun coloring pictures, learning to make paper tissue flowers and coffee filter butterflies, paper plate bunnies and glitter glue eggs. And then, of course, was an egg hunt where she made out like a bandit. For once she was one of the oldest in her age group and remembered our instructions to focus on eggs on the ground and not on their insides. She even shared sweetly a couple of eggs with younger kids in the end.
We also did some spring crafts at home – this year I am determined to use some of our craft kits. But I would also love to fit in some of the great crafts I saw online:
- An Easter Card from Frugal Family Fun
- Shaving cream egg cards from Little Wonder Days
- Easter Bunny Craft from NurtureStore
Of course, spring celebrations wouldn’t be complete in our house without reading seasonal books, mostly from our own library:
