Apr9_EggHunt

Spring celebrations start early in our area and tied more to spring break than to Easter. Anna’s school had a Spring Spectacular party last week, which was followed by Spring Celebration in our community center. Our community center is very new and community events for kids are always stuffed with many volunteers and great craft stations. Anna had fun coloring pictures, learning to make paper tissue flowers and coffee filter butterflies, paper plate bunnies and glitter glue eggs. And then, of course, was an egg hunt where she made out like a bandit. For once she was one of the oldest in her age group and remembered our instructions to focus on eggs on the ground and not on their insides. She even shared sweetly a couple of eggs with younger kids in the end.

We also did some spring crafts at home – this year I am determined to use some of our craft kits. But I would also love to fit in some of the great crafts I saw online:

Of course, spring celebrations wouldn’t be complete in our house without reading seasonal books, mostly from our own library:

Speaking of books, we loved Roly-Poly Egg generously sent to us by Tiger Tales. Now you can own one too by visiting their blog.

Hurray Spring! We are having the big spring fest on base the weekend of Easter. I'm curious to see how Sam does on the egg hunt - he was always interested in the insides of the eggs too! Thanks for the craft links.

Your community center sounds wonderful! How lucky you are to have that for your family.

Spring is such a fun time of year. So much to try and get in before that hot summer heat.

I love those shaving cream eggs from Little Wonders Days too and definitely plan to make them here. My Jack will especially love them!

Hope you are having a wonderful Monday Natalie!

Anna is very kind to share some of her eggs with the younger children.

Painting outside is such a lovely thing to do on a spring day.

Fun! I'm taking M to two different egg hunts this weekend. We'll have to find some Spring arts and crafts to tie in too.
