July26_ScotchTape1

I have decided that Anna is old enough to handle a scotch tape dispenser. As I expected, she was over the moon – clearly to her it was a major milestone on the path of becoming a big kid. She kept saying excitedly, I am doing it all on my own, like an adult! I am excited too – scotch tape makes certain projects less pretty, but also less messy, and the 3D pieces don’t fall off as easily. Anna ended up making a few collages with July26_ScotchTape2 yarn pieces. I was hoping that she will measure the yarn, but she was not interested… then. The next day she made collages with used up coffee holders and kept measuring them to make sure the pieces will fit on the page. Her coffee holder collage ended up as “an airplane tower and a big building” even though it started originally as a tree and was named “ladder with steps” in the middle of the project. I see a lot more of those scotch tape projects coming our way until scotch tape loses its novelty.

We hsven't tried much with scotch tape yet. Selena did try to help with it a few weeks back only to not understand it was sticky leading to quite a nice ball of tape in her hand!

We just did an activity where JC was responsible for the taping and decorating while her friend did the cutting and arranging. It will be posted tomorrow.

Kiddo also likes to tell me "I'll do the tape, myself." But once I failed to put it out of reach of New Kid. Well, you can imagine how much fun he had with it.

Emma loves to use scotch tape to attach things she loves to our walls. Most of the time it's her own artwork, but sometimes it's more unusual things, like pull-up ads (she loves the pictures of the Disney princesses on them). All at 4yo eye level, of course!

Collin has been using scotch tape for at least two years now and it has not lost its novelty yet.

So cute. I'm always amazed at what they really think is something special and grown up.

I think if we could find our scotch tape on a regular basis (why do I forget to put it back when I'm done with it?) my kids would be more intrigued with it.

I bet if Batman and Anna ever got together nothing in the house would be safe.

Joe still blows through rolls of it if I let him:-). So funny how something like Scotch tape can keep them amused for so long! If they are happy, I'm happy:-).

My daughter loves scotch tape but has not yet mastered the art of detaching it but is very handy with glue sticks and glue pots. Lovely pictures!

My little one loves scotch tape too, but I had to hide it. She thought that since I let her use it once that she could use it anytime she pleased. I went in ther room and the entire roll had been used. It was everywhere.
