June9_PJDay

It’s been quite a week. We came home from our travels on Monday night, and both me and my husband were quite sick. Anna, on the other hand, was quite happy to be at home and very excited about her last day of school on Wednesday. They had it as a pajama day. Then on Wednesday afternoon she started running a fever and joined the “sick club”. It really stinks that we didn’t come back from our vacation refreshed and reenergized. I hope that we will kick the bug out quickly, so Anna can start her summer week on Monday and I can go on my next business trip next Wednesday.June1_Reading

Reading. One thing that is permanent in Anna’s life – her desire for books. My father snapped this photo at their place, and it cracks me up, because we have a picture of me at about the same age reading a book in the same place. OK, not exactly, I was reading my book on the small potty :) Anna claims that she cannot go #2 without having a book to occupy her.

June8_NaturalHistory

Field Trips/Science. When my parents picked us up from NYC cruise ship terminal on Sunday, we headed directly to the Museum of Natural History, and straight to the fourth floor to see dinosaurs. Anna was beyond herself with excitement. She was moving so quickly that it was difficult to get a decent picture of her. She was extremely excited to see “real dinosaurs” and touch fossils. I will probably write a separate post on it for Science Sunday.

I hope everyone is feeling better soon!

We went to the Museum of Natural History in NY last summer. My kids enjoyed it, but I have one complaint. It is so EXPENSIVE!!! A few years ago, we were in Washington,D.C. and loved all of the museums. The best part is that they are FREE! We went back to the museums to revisit our favorite exhibits a few times during our trip. Last summer, we spent four days in NYC and it cost us more money than our seven day Disney World trip! I guess that's NY!

Christy,
The Museum of Natural History is donation based. You can go in free but we always give half of the recommended donation because it's too much!

Sorry that the end of your trip left you so drained. I love that you made time to go to the museum to see the dinosaurs. That picture of Ana reading is priceless!

Hope you are all better soon! Anna looks more and more like you every day. I so wish my daughter loved books the way Anna does, but getting her to read anything right now is hard work. The museum sounds wonderful, my daughter also loves dinosaurs and dragons.

The first picture is hilarious - you'll have a lot of fun bringing that one out when she's bringing home boyfriends. :)
How neat to go see the dinosaurs, I can just imagine how excited she must have been - can't wait to hear more about it.
Sorry you are all sick - hope you are feeling better soon!

I agree with the others the pictures are adorable! That was so nice that you were able to take in the Museum of Natural History before coming home!

I'm always amazed at how often we come back from a trip sick. I wonder if traveling lowers your immune system.

I love the potty pic!

I can definitely identify with the "moving too fast to get a decent picture" thing!!

I hope that you're feeling better!
