I cannot believe that the first month of the year has gone already! I wrote the list of Top 10 for 2010, and it’s time to check how we did this month.

Overall I have to give us C. Neither myself nor my husband found any time for exercise this month. We also didn’t go on dates and didn’t do much with our friends except our one absolute closest friend – we finally reinstated our Friday movie nights with him.
I didn’t read any books – period. I still spent way too much time online. On the positive side, we completed the big “project of the month” that we planned for this month – it was our 2009 photo album. Not bad, considering that we completed our 2008 photo album in November 2009 :)
We ate healthier overall, and we tried to do more new things. I will have to blame the weather for not doing more. We had some plans, but we had so much rain this year that we spent most of our weekends inside. I still feel that we need to do more on “music at home”, but Smarty starts to like her dance class and dances at home from time to time. We had a lot of fun quality time together – playing, reading, being silly, and she seems to be growing happy and confident in our love for her.
In February I would like to spend more time outside and to have one afternoon play date a week. I caught myself again trying to do too many academic things and getting too many books from the library for our geography topics. Of course, I want to get my exercise routine going again and overall feel more relaxed both at work and at home.
How are your New Year resolutions going? Are you on track? Share in the comments or on your blog :)

I could be doing better too. I like the way you are trying month by month. I'm trying to make goals for myself weekly. It is more manageable for me.

We joined a gym, that required a one year contract. Knowing that the money is going out whether we're there, or not, has kept us really motivated to exercise. I'm not seeing any results yet, but that might have something to do with all the marshmallows, and cookies we've been making, too. :)

But, I wanted to be more organized, and useful this year, and so far, I'm totally flopping on those two.

NOt doing too great on my goals for this year. I have an accountability partner here, and I was supposed to get her a chore schedule, by last Friday, and it hasn't moved from my head to reality yet.
I'll agree with you that weather really messes things up.

I'm excited to see someone else doing monthly goal reviews/goal setting!

Thanks for reminding me that, while you may not get our snow, the weather in Northern California especially is not always dreamy. I lived there for five years, but I still sometimes forget how wet the winters can be...

Here's my goals post, which also went up today:

Don't be discouraged! Life sometimes gets in the way, but really, keeping in mind that these are good goals, just keep plugging away...and don't give up!

I could have done better overall in the exercise dept. as well. I did get in about 3 days per week average, but I hope to make it more toward the 5 average this next month!

Natalie, good for you getting your 2009 photo album finished up! I have ordered my pics and hope to have this finished up myself the next couple weeks.

Good luck to you with your exercise and date nights! I truly hope you find time to make these things work for you!!

I think you are doing great:-).

Sounds like you did great for the first month. Change takes time. Me...instead of staying calm, cool, and organized, I've turned into a total basket case. But a lot has gone wrong here in the last few weeks. We have continued school at least. Except that Crumpet is sick right now, so this week may not go well. Sigh. The best laid plans, over run by real life!

Well, I exercised once. ONE time. LOl, so I'm not exactly gloating here. :) It's hard to fit everything in, isn't it? I find I need to constantly remind myself of my priorities and if the smaller stuff gets left undone, well then it just does. And I'm POSITIVE Anna is thriving in your love for her, there is no doubt about it!

I am in a January slump myself. As far as "school" and getting organized with my activities with the boys, I am very happy. However, my better eating habits and exercising is just not happening. I'll try harder in Feb. :)

I didn't make any resolutions, but I did want to read more this year and spend less time on the computer. Not doing so well with either of those. Hope you get some nice sunny days soon. We could use a few more over here as well.
