One of popular books last week was Eggday by Joyce Dunbar and Jane Cabrera. In the book a duck asks a male goat, a male horse and a male pig to bring eggs to an “Eggday celebration”. They are all trying really hard to lay eggs until a hen appears, sets them straight regarding their egg-laying abilities and helps them out. It’s a great book for a Farm theme, it has a lot of interesting vocabulary, and it’s pretty funny. My idea for this StArt project was to decorate some eggs. Anna was enthusiastic, but results were not really that great. My idea was making eggs out of playdoh, but she insisted that she wants to draw eggs with markers, and this is her representation of a horse egg. Under her hand is my pitiful attempt to draw a horse. After I realized how horribly it looks I went to the closet to look for some animal stickers. By the time I got back she was “all done”. I was hoping to repeat this project, but life got in the way, and it looks like Anna worked out all her crafting energy last week before Halloween.
