Sep4_Periwinkle2_SM

I have mentioned our kitty before. It was the best gift from grandma ever – Anna got it when she was about 6 months, and it was her most favorite toy forever since. I was always referring to this kitty as “him”, since, after all, kitty Periwinkle in Blue Clues is a boy. However, about a week ago Anna has announced that her kitty is in fact a girl and so is her blankie and every other toy she has (unless it’s a Lego doll, they are all boys). She explains it simply – I am a girl, and it’s my kitty, so it’s a girl. It’s my daughter. No gender confusion here, eh. Now I have to retrain myself to refer to our Periwinkle as “her”. Every time I slip up I get corrected.

This is sweet. I love her painted rock food for the kitty too. Aren't these her little rocks from last week?

I love reading about the things Anna says. She seems to talk a lot for her age, and it's great how she explains her thought process out loud.
