We had a fun project doing this kite from DLTK website. My daughter always enjoys projects that involve gluing. Coloring is her least favorite activity, and after coloring two kite bows she declared that the rest of them will stay white. Well, any lack of coloring was “mitigated” by stickers. I got those foam stickers with transportation theme at a Dollar store, and they definitely came in handy during our Things That Fly theme. I punched the hole in the kite for the string, but Anna absolutely refused it – she said that she will fly the kite by the tail. No surprise – the tail broke off pretty fast – I taped it back by a scotch tape to give it a little staying power in toddler hands :)

What a wonderful idea! I have to make one with Matthew before summer is over. Thanks for the link. BTW, Matthew isn't much of one for coloring either. Just not exciting enough I guess! :)

How fun! I love that website; it's chalk-full of great resources. We just got a wireless printer hooked up and it's dangerous because I sit and just print, print, print. Ha!

Love the kite! I'm planning on doing more "theme-like" weeks in the future and I'm filing away the kite idea for sure. :)
