Our long flight to Germany last year left less than pleasant memories, so we were somewhat apprehensive preparing for our cross-country flight to New Jersey. First of all, we decided not to try red eye flights again. We flew during the day hoping that maybe Anna will take a nap on the plane. The nap didn’t happen, but our backpacks were full of entertainment options – books, Color Wonder drawing pad with markers, magnetic dolls, coloring books, sticker books. However, what really saved our sanity were our laptops with several episodes of her beloved Go, Diego, Go! on them. After the first hour of futile attempts to get our daughter to sleep, we alternated 30 min of watching a movie (this time she was quite willing to wear earphones) with 30 min of other activities. At least during movie watching we could get a small break from non-stop entertainment as well. The flight still felt way too long to me, but the whole trip was so much easier this year. Maybe next year I will have enough optimism to try a trip to Germany again :)

I don't blame you one bit!! I couldn't imagine keeping a little one entertained for that time span on an small, enclosed airplane!
