It might appear sometimes from my posts that my daughter spends all her time reading or drawing. No, a daily dose of outside play is very important to us. We have a great weather lately - warm days that just beg for outside play. And what is the better thing outside than water? The spray bottle that I handed out to her last Friday was a big hit over the weekend. It was too funny to see my daughter who has a fear of showers happily spraying herself with this bottle. She proceeded to spray and wash her playhouse and practiced to unscrew and screw the bottle during refills. She also loves other types of water play - fishing for leaves in a big pail of water with a stick, watering flowers with a can, washing rocks, sprinkling with a water hose. And she is happy to be naked (or at least dressed only in her underpants) for those games, so no public pictures here :) I just want this summer to continue forever and I want my daughter to enjoy her joyful childhood in every way possible.

Kids love spraybottles :) I gave one to my daughter last summer and she had a blast, thanks for sharing because I totally forgot about that and I can let her try that again this year!

We have that exact spray bottle! Two of them, actually. Tommy loves spraying his toys and "cleaning" them (and cleaning the house, and the furniture, and the floor...lol). I think it's so much fun for them because it's an 'adult' object that is small enough for them to manipulate.

btw, we cleaned out the boys' room yesterday afternoon and it was a lot of work, but so very worth it. The boys now have only enough toys that I can count on two hands (wooden blocks, legos, duplos, books, train set, 1 large wooden train, 1 truck, and a box of matchbox cars). It's amazing because all this morning they played with everything, I think because they could finally *see* it. I love their room now that it's so clutter-free!

My daughter is the same way. She's scared of the shower but will happily spray herself in the face.

How funny that she hates showers but will happily spray herself in the face! My kids are the other way around - they don't mind the shower at all, but they won't splash or spray their faces.

Z is way into spray bottles too and we have the back open so he can go in and out whenever he wants since it's enclosed he's safe.
